Not Lower, Just Different

Monday, October 27th, 2008

It’s always a good evergreen story to make liberals feel guilty – some idiot hangs an effigy of a Black person. They’ll have an interview with the FBI Special agent saying how this horrible Hate Crime is being investigated and an interview with some professor saying that hanging effigies of Black folks is terrible.

What happens when an effigy of a national political candidate is hanged in effigy?

It depends.

In enlightened West Hollywood, it got descibed as “within the spirit of Halloween”. It seems that the Secret Service and FBI agree by default since the effigy is still hanging.

But before you call a protest, realize that the mannequin was meant to be Sarah Palin. If that makes a difference to you, you are a racist.

UPDATE: Well, we don’t need to speculate what would happen if some idiot hangs an effigy of Mr. Obama. Someone did in Kentucky and I was partly right about the response.

Raoul Cunningham, president of the Louisville chapter of the NAACP, said he is still trying to sort out his feelings “because there may be a double-meaning because Barack Obama is black, that he would be hung from a tree—that goes back to lynching.”

Give it a day or so for the FBI to offer a sound bite.

Federal authorities have been notified, Todd said. He said the effigy violates the university’s code of ethics and won’t be tolerated.

Direct from the Messiah.

This is as close to a straight answer as you’ll get. At a campaign stop a plumber complained to Senator Obama about his tax burden. Rather than the usual vilification of the bourgeoisie, the candidate said:

It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody that is behind you, that they have a chance for success too.

So success is a finite commodity that has to be government regulated. Sounds like the guarantee of equal outcomes rather than that of equal opportunities.

In other words, the redistribution of wealth.

At least he’s being a little more forthcoming (accidentally?) than his usual cotton candy platitudes. C’mon Barry, just be yourself and let the voters see what you’re made of. Come right out and say that your constituents support you because of the guaranteed gravy train paid for by us taxpayers. At least you’ll be honest for once.

Sales price increases, production declines ??

Monday, October 13th, 2008

Makes no sense, right? If your product is in demand and the open market price increases, you’d try to produce more.

Not in Venezuela. When you have a dictator who controls the markets (in the name of The People), the opposite happens. Even during the price run up of oil, production dropped by a fourth.

PDVSA, the state oil producer, has a bit of mission-creep.

“The new PDVSA is central to the social battle for the advance of our country,” said Rafael Ramirez, the company’s president and the minister for petroleum. “We have worked to convert PDVSA into a key element for the social battle.”

Operationally, what does this newspeak mean? Well, the oil company now makes furniture and household appliances. It is a food producer.

But the oil revenue must bring in enough cash to finance even a tinhorn socialists’ quest for total market domination. Well, central planning fails again. It seems that oil is not a commodity for sale, but as Mr. Ramirez said, a “key element for the social battle”.

That means it’s a party favor to be sold at a huge discount to everyone except the evil US. There isn’t enough money to upgrade or even maintain the means of production (good Marxist term). So the country can’t keep up the flow of its biggest export even when prices were at record levels. Sound like a downward spiral?

So for all of the drivel about evil capitalism exploiting the proletariat, the centrally-planned nationalized economies again show their inherent flaw. They just don’t work for production. Now if your mission is not efficient production but control of the populous, they’re just fine. Keeping everyone equally miserable is quite easy as long as you can focus their energies on blaming the US instead of the Dictator.

UPDATE: 10-23-2008. Now they can’t even keep up with domestic production of electricity. Central planning builds according to the plan, not what’s actually required.

All he has left to sell is guilt.

As Michael Moore’s favorite workers’ paradise just starts to ration food , Fidel echoes the kook fringe and pontificates that the only reason people don’t like B. Hussein Obama is…. because they’re racist.

Wow, the fringe is actually ahead of the curve this time. They’ve beaten their ideological mentor to the punch. I guess the only reason not to support a female on the ticket is because someone must be a misogynist bully. Hey, that almost worked for Hilary. I wonder why the feminists aren’t clucking their same line now.

Ohh, it’s because she’s a conservative and therefore not a “real” woman. Hey, if you’d just have made it clear that your beliefs weren’t actually about gender and were purely about control in the first place, you’d get a pass. Now, you’ve unmasked yourselves as total liars.

Hope the PC crowd can spin this some other direction. The latest talking point of “McCain = anger” is being played out in the media. Unfortunately for the appeasers, this may backfire. People may not be happy with electing someone involved with an organization that has a long history of false voter registrations and who failed to notice that his pastor of twenty years is a loon. Their tactics may just let people know that it’s OK to be concerned when one party actively recruits phantom voters and then cries about diesnfranchising the ghosts.

Promise or threat?

If McCain wins, look for a full-fledged race and class war, fueled by a deflated and depressed country, soaring crime, homelessness – and hopelessness!.     – Fatimah Ali

Quotes like this are why a free press is necessary.  While the leftists brand anything they don’t like as “Hate Speech” and demand censorship, the rest of us are glad to see what makes some folks tick.  And the best way to expose idiocy is to let the idiot speak.

How ironic that this woman has a muslim name.  A search of philly.com doesn’t reveal her complaining about the way her brethern have treated women over the past 900 years.  Oh, I guess that’s different.

Folks, playing the race war card just might cow some of the appeasers into supporting you.  But your actions polarize a lot of normal people.  Of course the media will note the effect and decry it, but focus their angst on those receiving the threats and prescribe tolerance (for one side, but not the other).  And the cycle escalates.

As an average North American, here’s some free advice (worth every penny):  Go sell your guilt and fear elsewhere, I’m not buying.
